Castle Street & Victoria Road | ||
View down Castle Street in 1910.
With the exception of the Little Castle, Compulsory Notices for Demolition were served, in the 1960's, on all the on all the houses on the left of this photograph. They were soon replaced by blocks of three storey flats.
The long terrace of houses on the right of this photograph was also demolished in the 1960's, The intention was to replace then with maisonettes, but subsequently it was discovered that the ground was not stable enough to allow the proposed development and the area became a green open space.
